Late start today as we had a champagne breakfast in the room as part of the wedding package. Made our way down to Club Mistral for Michelle to start with but the swell was getting the better of her (though she did catch the odd wave on a Mistral N Trance).

I opted to go for a 5.8 with a Mistral Shift as this was the board I'd been allocated from the initial booking via e-mail. I had already twigged why this board had been kept away as it was popular with the local guys and not usually in demand from the punters, not ideal when you've paid $400 for rental.

The board was in a pretty shabby state and patently waterlogged due to several large cracks. When I pointed this out I was assured that they were just cracks in the gel coat. Needless to say it wasn't very quick on the plane so I reverted to the Switch.

It was another day of big port tack jumps and some slick heli-tacks with the odd push tack. Upwind manoeuvres seem to be the order of the day due to the gusty winds. Another good day.
